SolarMax bags EPC contracts for BESS projects in Puerto Rico 

SolarMax Technology, Inc., through its wholly owned subsidiary SolarMax Renewable Energy Provider, Inc., has entered into two engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements with Yabucoa BESS LLC and Naguabo BESS LLC. The agreements cover utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects located in Humacao, Puerto Rico, and Ceiba Municipality, Puerto Rico. The two EPC contracts are together expected to generate revenues of about $158.3 million. 

Under the agreements, SolarMax Renewable Energy Provider, Inc. will undertake the complete EPC scope for the projects. This includes system design, engineering, procurement, installation, construction, testing, start-up, and commissioning. The combined battery storage capacity across the two projects totals 400 MWh. Additionally, SolarMax Technology, Inc. is acquiring a 9 per cent equity stake in each of the two project entities as part of the transaction structure.

In August 2025, SolarMax Technology signed an EPC agreement with Longfellow BESS I LLC for a 430 MWh utility-scale BESS project in Pecos county, Texas. The contract is expected to generate revenues of about $127.3 million, with SolarMax acquiring an 8 per cent equity stake in the project company. The project is scheduled for completion by June 30, 2026.
