Novo Oriente solar complex in Brazil begins full commercial operations

The Ministry of Mines and Energy of the Brazilian government has announced that the Novo Oriente photovoltaic complex, located in Ilha Solteira, São Paulo, Brazil, has entered full commercial operation. This milestone was achieved following the commissioning of its final plant in December 2025. With this commissioning, the entire solar park now operates at its complete installed capacity of 254.5 MW.

The complex comprises a total of 82 generation units organised across six individual power plants. All six power plants of the solar park are covered under the Special Incentive Regime for Infrastructure Development (REIDI), a Brazilian government programme that provides tax incentives for qualifying infrastructure projects in the country.

The complex involved an estimated investment of R$ 1.22 billion reportedly. Furthermore, it forms part of the New Growth Acceleration Programme (Novo PAC). Environmental licensing for the project was granted by the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (CETESB), which is the body responsible for regulatory compliance verification.
