TP Saurya commissions a 200 MW solar project in Rajasthan

TP Saurya Limited, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, has declared the effective initiation of a 200 MW solar project. Situated in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the project caters to Tata Power Trading Company Limited. Anticipated to produce a noteworthy 485 million units of electricity each year, the initiative is in harmony with the company’s goal to significantly enhance India’s renewable energy capacity. Additionally, the project will be integrated into the central transmission utility grid, facilitating the effective dissemination of green power throughout the area.

Apart from its substantial energy generation, the project is set to have a notable effect on environmental sustainability, with an anticipated annual reduction of 388,000 tonnes in carbon emissions. Furthermore, the endeavor encompassed the setup of around 523,365 modules.

Following this addition, TPREL’s overall renewable energy capacity has reached 9,018 MW, with a power purchase agreement capacity of 7,632 MW, comprising 4,547 MW of projects in different phases of development, and an operational capacity of 4,471 MW, consisting of 3,444 MW solar and 1,027 MW wind.

In March 2024, Tata Power Solar Systems Limited commissioned solar-and-battery energy storage systems project located at Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh.
