TNGECL floats tender for 20 MW rooftop solar projects in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Green Energy Corporation Limited (TNGECL) has invited bids to develop 20 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems on government buildings across the state. The projects will be implemented under the renewable energy service company model using a net feed-in arrangement.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work encompasses the design, engineering, supply, storage, and erection of the solar projects. It further involves the testing, commissioning, and quality control of the projects. The scope also covers offering 25-year operation and maintenance services. Additionally, shortlisted bidders are required to handle the civil works. They must comply with the net feed-in provisions under the Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission Regulation 2021. They also need to carry out site visits, conduct rooftop surveys and solar potential assessments, and prepare the final feasibility report for the designated locations.

Further, according to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 125,000 per MW. The selected bidders are required to submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 1 million per MW. The bid submission deadline is December 29, 2025.

Earlier in November 2025, TNGECL floated a tender for selecting developers to develop a 15 MW solar project, along with a 15 MW/45 MWh battery energy storage system in Tamil Nadu.
