TP Renewable Microgrid and SIDBI collaborate for green energy enterprises

TP Renewable Microgrid Limited (TPRMG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power, and the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) have collaborated to launch an innovative programme that involves the establishment of 1,000 green energy enterprises across the country. After completion of TPRMG’s organised capacity building activity, SIDBI will provide entrepreneurs with a “Go REsponsive, ENterprise incentive (GREENi)”. SIDBI will also assist in credit linkages to facilitate financing for setting up or expanding rural entrepreneurs’ businesses through its PRAYAAS scheme or partner institutions.

TPRMG will look for suitable entrepreneurs within its existing microgrid network as well as in new geographies to provide rural businesses with quality, affordable, dependable, and clean green energy. TPRMG will also offer rural businesses green energy solutions as well as technical know-how for maximising energy utilisation and conservation.

This initiative will help in fostering sustainable entrepreneurship models across the country, resulting in the empowerment of rural entrepreneurs. Tata Power intends to build 10,000 microgrids in the coming years. It has installed over 200 microgrids, the majority of which are located in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In Odisha, a pilot microgrid programme is also being tested.
