Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has received Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission’s (MERC) approval to procure 780 MW of wind-solar hybrid power from NTPC Limited.
The renewable power will be procured at a tariff of Rs. 3.42 to 3.43 per kWh, which includes a trading margin of 7 paise per kWh. Furthermore, the approved procurement will be supplied by Sprng Vayu Vidyut, Juniper Green Beta, and ACME Renewtech. The procured power will enable MSEDCL to meet its renewable purchase obligations.
Earlier in July 2025, MSEDCL issued a request for selection to procure 2,000 MW/4,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems across multiple locations in the state under a build-own-operate model.
