Steel Authority of India Limited’s (SAIL) Bokaro Steel Plant has inked an agreement with Forbes Marshall Private Limited. The agreement will enable hydrogen injection in blast furnace number-1 at the plant.
Furthermore, the project aims to partially replace traditional carbon-based fuels like coke and coal with hydrogen. The project is being implemented under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
Earlier in January 2026, SAIL commissioned a 5 MW floating solar project at its Bhilai Steel Plant.
