Navashil Sharma: Chief Executive Officer, InSolare Energy Limited

With over 22 years of experience in the electrical and electronics engineering field, Navashil Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, InSolare Energy Limited combines global perspective with deep domain expertise. An alumnus of the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA, with a Bachelors of Engineering and M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, his professional journey began in the heart of Silicon Valley at Intel Corporation. Over an 11.5-year tenure at Intel, he contributed significantly to cutting-edge innovations—including Intel’s first SATA interface and multiple IP design breakthroughs across 90 nm to 14 nm technologies. In India, he led a 200-member engineering team, earning divisional awards for leadership and delivery excellence.

Today, as the chief executive officer of InSolare Energy, Sharma is focused on scaling the company’s growth twofold. “The most exciting part of my current role,” he says, “is steering the organisation through ambitious growth while making high-impact decisions in a fast-changing environment.”

Under his leadership, InSolare Energy has grown its EPC portfolio to 1+ GW, successfully implementing projects ranging from solar parks and ground-mounted systems to rooftop and hybrid renewable solutions. Its footprint spans across India, with key projects commissioned in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan—providing turnkey solar EPC solutions to top industrial, institutional, and government clients. Expanding beyond domestic success, InSolare has also made its mark internationally, executing projects in the UAE, and setting the stage for further global partnerships in high-potential solar markets. As the company evolves into a future-ready renewable energy platform under Sharma’s stewardship, in addition to solar, InSolare is actively diversifying into green hydrogen, battery energy storage systems, and solar-wind hybrid projects with ISTS connectivity.

Sharma is acutely aware of the regulatory challenges that impact the sector. “Banking policies and open access restrictions in certain states are making it difficult to optimise solar project viability—especially under OPEX models. Policy consistency is crucial to unlocking more private sector investment,” he notes.

In a sector as dynamic and complex as renewable energy, true leadership requires more than just technical knowledge—it demands clarity of vision, agility in execution, and the courage to lead through uncertainty. His management style reflects the adaptive nature of the industry – a mix of situational and transformational leadership. “We’re dealing with fast-moving regulations, high competition, and evolving technologies. You need to be flexible, open to change, and constantly innovating to stay ahead.”

Despite the high-stakes environment, Sharma maintains a grounded perspective. In his free time, he enjoys movies, great food, and introspection—often thinking about ways to improve operations and team dynamics at InSolare.

Looking ahead, his vision is clear: “I want to build InSolare into a frontrunner in India’s clean energy transition—scaling up to 3 GW and enabling our clients to meet their net zero goals with confidence, speed, and reliability.”
