The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has issued a tender for 110 MW of solar projects to be installed in Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur Nagar. The projects include 75 MW in the Kanpur Dehat solar park and 35 MW in the Kanpur Nagar solar park. The projects are to be executed on a build-own-operate-maintain basis.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit a money deposit of Rs 800,000 per MW. The selected bidders must develop internal infrastructure such as street lighting, drainage systems, and weather monitoring stations. Furthermore, the developers must also establish a dedicated transmission line from their substation or switchyard to the interconnection delivery point at the grid station. The projects must be completed within 24 months from the date of award. A power purchase agreement for 25 years must be signed with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited. The deadline for the bid submission is May 27, 2025.
A minimum capacity utilisation factor of 17 per cent is required for all projects. Only commercially established and operational technologies are to be used to ensure reduced technology risk and timely completion. Solar modules must be sourced from companies listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. According to the eligibility criteria, the bidders must have a net worth of at least Rs 8 million per MW and a maximum annual turnover of Rs 3.4 million per MW.
