Premier Energies Limited, a major solar cell and module manufacturer in India, has entered into a strategic partnership with Germany-based RENA Technologies GmbH. The focus of the collaboration is on innovating processes for n-type solar cells and developing wet chemistry techniques for next-generation tandem solar cells.
The alliance brings together Premier Energies’ large-scale production infrastructure and RENA Technologies’ expertise in wet chemical process equipment. The objective is to improve solar cell performance, increase manufacturing throughput, and support more sustainable production methods. The partnership is also expected to help reduce the carbon footprint associated with solar manufacturing, while supporting India’s competitiveness in the global solar technology space. Additionally, the collaboration is also aimed at optimising product quality, lowering consumable use, and achieving better efficiencies.
RENA Technologies, which supplies wet chemical equipment across sectors including semiconductors, solar, glass, and medical technology, views this collaboration as an entry point to expand further into the Indian solar market.
