Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has secured a Letter of Award (LOA) from Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) for a 1,250 MW energy storage capacity through Pumped Hydro Storage Projects (PSP). The Panaura PSP, located in Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, comes with a minimum commitment of 40 years and is expected to be completed within six years.
AGEL has expanded its portfolio to include energy storage solutions alongside its solar, wind, and hybrid projects. The company aims to develop over 5 GW of hydro PSP capacity by 2030. Construction is already in progress for several projects, including a 500 MW hydro PSP at the Chitravathi River in Andhra Pradesh, a 1,500 MW facility at Tarali in Maharashtra, and an 1,800 MW project at Gandikota in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier this month, Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) operationalised a 250 MW solar power project at Bhimsar and Dwada in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, through its wholly-owned step down subsidiary, Adani Green Energy Twenty Four Limited.
