NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam has invited bids for setting up of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected 250 MW/ 1,000 MWh (250 MW X 4 hours) standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS). The project will be developed on the basis of build, own, and operate model.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1.4 million. The developers are required to furnish a performance bank guarantee of Rs 3.6 million per MW. The minimum and maximum bid size includes 200 MWh (50 MW X 4 hours) and 500 MWh (125 MW X 4 hours), respectively.
The capacity is required to be distributed and connected to ISTS substations anywhere in India. Furthermore, it will be developed with a viability gap funding. Moreover, it will include an additional greenshoe option capacity of up to 250 MW/ 1,000 MWh. NVVN will receive power on an on-demand basis, as per the requirement during peak and off-peak hours. The bid submission deadline is March 24, 2025.
