ACME Solar signs PPA with NHPC for 680 MW FDRE project

ACME Solar has signed a power purchase agreement with NHPC Limited for a 680 MW firm and dispatchable (FDRE) renewable energy project. The project was awarded under NHPC’s 1,400 MW FDRE tender and will be developed across multiple locations, including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. It integrates solar, wind, and battery storage to enhance efficiency and reliability in power supply.

The project mandates a minimum annual capacity utilisation factor of 40 per cent and requires meeting 90 per cent of the committed value during peak hours. Additionally, it is expected to contribute significantly to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

In December 2024, ACME Solar commissioned four co-located ISTS-connected solar projects totaling 1,023 MW out of a cumulative capacity of 1,200 MW, in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, with the remaining 177 MW capacity of the project having already been energised and currently in the process of commissioning.
