CIP invests in Stiesdal Offshore

Stiesdal Offshore and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), via its Copenhagen Infrastructure V (CI V) fund, have announced a strategic collaboration to position Stiesdal Offshore as a long-term leader in the floating wind sector. As part of this partnership, CI V has acquired a minority stake in Stiesdal Offshore.

Stiesdal will offer engineering services and comprehensive project execution support, aiming to reduce costs, simplify project execution, and accelerate the growth of floating offshore wind. Furthermore, floating wind is expected to grow significantly between 2030 and 2040, with the International Energy Agency (IEA) predicting a tenfold increase in global offshore wind capacity.

Earlier this year, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Fund II (CI GMF II)  reached a final investment decision on a 220 MW/1,100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Chile’s Antofagasta Region. The project which is now in the construction phase is  one of the first initiatives of its kind to reach this stage in the region.
