IndiGrid has announced that it has commenced its first greenfield project, namely Kallam Transmission Ltd (KTL). Situated at Beed, Maharashtra, the project has been developed on the basis of build, own, and operate model for 35 years. The company won the project in December 2021, as a part of tariff based competitive bidding process.
KTL consists of 10 Bays with an 18 km line-in line-out multicircuit line, as well as one substation with two 500 MVA capacities and 400/220 kV voltages. The project aims to facilitate the evacuation of power from 1,000 MW clean energy projects in Maharashtra’s Dharashiv region. It will be crucial in fortifying the state’s transmission infrastructure by enhancing grid availability for evacuation and integrating renewable energy.
In February 2024, IndiGrid concluded acquisition of 300 MW AC solar asset at an enterprise valuation of approximately Rs 15.5 billion, excluding net working capital and cash adjustments, aligning with the share purchase agreement inked in January 2024.
In January 2024, IndiGrid bagged a letter of intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited for establishment of two greenfield inter-state transmission projects.
