Adani Electricity issues tender for 600 MW wind projects

Adani Electricity Mumbai has issued a tender to choose project developers for the procurement of power from 600 MW grid-connected wind projects. To be located anywhere in India, the projects will be developed on the basis of build, own, and operate model.

The project developer will be responsible for aspects such as land, connectivity, and securing long-term access. Participants in the bidding process are permitted to establish joint ventures and consortia. The project developer is responsible for the interconnection with the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) or state transmission utility network to supply power to Adani Electricity. The bidders are required to submit Rs 1.26 million per MW for each project as an earnest money deposit. The bid submission deadline is April 2, 2024.

The tender permits the consideration of already operational wind power projects. Wind power projects in progress or those not yet operational may also be taken into account, as long as they are not already approved under any other central or state initiatives, and unallocated capacity is accessible. Adani Electricity intends to engage in a 25-year power purchase agreement with the selected wind power developers, starting from the scheduled commercial operation date. The bidding entity is obligated to furnish a unified tariff at the delivery point for the provision of wind power derived from the wind energy project. Wind power projects associated with the intra-state transmission system need to have a minimum bidding capacity of 10 MW or higher, whereas those linked to the ISTS must possess a minimum bidding capacity of 50 MW or higher.

Recently, in February 2024, Adani Green Energy Limited successfully commissioned 551 MW of solar capacity delivering electricity to the national grid in Khavda, Gujarat.
