SMC issues tender for 10 MW ground-mounted solar projects

Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has invited consultants for 10 MW ground-mounted grid-connected solar projects. To be located in Gujarat, the project will be carried out on land taken on lease.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work under the project includes supply, installation, testing, and commissioning, including maintenance for a period of up to ten years, with free maintenance in first year. The bidders are required to submit Rs 45,000 as an earnest money deposit. The bid submission deadline is January 8, 2024.

The work is divided into two parts, including doing performance testing and validating energy generation; and securing permission for drawings, quality assurance plan for materials or equipment, pre-dispatch inspection, and site supervision. Furthermore, to be eligible, the consultant is required to have a minimum of five years of experience in the field of solar energy-based generation plants. In the case of a firm, there should be at least one professional within the firm who possesses such experience. Only public limited companies or government or semi-government organisations with a minimum total capacity of 5 MW are eligible for the consultant’s services. The consultant must have successfully completed at least three ground mounted solar projects or rooftop solar power projects.
