Avaada Group secures $1.3 billion fundraising

Avaada Group has secured financing for its green energy operations for Rs 107 billion. The funds will be used to expand Avaada’s green hydrogen, green methanol, green ammonia, solar manufacturing, and renewable power generation enterprises. Brookfield Renewables contributed $1 billion, and Avaada’s current investor Global Power Synergy Public Co (GPSC) contributed $301 million.

Brookfield Renewables’ Brookfield Global Transition Fund invested in Avaada. GPSC, Avaada Energy’s existing stakeholder with a 42.93 per cent stake, has agreed to spend an extra $233 million in the company, in addition to the $68 million disclosed in April. GPSC’s entire investment in Avaada now stands at roughly $779 million.

Recently, Amp Energy India secured investments up to $250 million from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC Bank of Japan),Intermediate Capital Group (ICG), and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB ) to fund the growth of the company. SMBC is a Japanese multinational banking and financial services institution headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. The group operates in retail, corporate, and investment banking segments worldwide. ICG is a London Stock Exchange listed, leading global alternative asset manager.
