Telangana requests EPC contractors for 50 MW of residential rooftop solar

Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corp Ltd (TSREDCO) is seeking EPC contractors for 50 MW of grid-connected residential rooftop solar capacity under the capex model. The capacity is available through the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) grid-connected rooftop solar programme phase II that provides central financial assistance for the installation of rooftop solar projects in residential buildings.

Consumers under this scheme are free to install their projects from any empanelled vendor as long as they are installed or commissioned in accordance with the MNRE Phase-II guidelines and subsequent amendments.

The scope of work of the project for the grid-interactive rooftop solar PV power plants includes design, supply, erection, testing, commissioning, and five years of comprehensive operation and maintenance. They must also make the necessary arrangements for grid evacuation and injection at the interconnection points agreed upon with the discoms.

In September 2022, TSREDCO issued a request for proposals to install and commission 3.07 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems. The systems will be equipped with net metering and will be installed at 1,521 government schools throughout Telangana. According to the tender guidelines, the successful bidder will be responsible for the project’s operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The capital expenditure model will be used to develop the projects.
