SJVN issues BoS tender for 400 MW solar projects

SJVN Green Energy Limited has issued a request for proposals for the provision and deployment of balance of system (BoS) packages for a total of 400 MW solar projects. The solar capacity of 400 MW consists of four distinct projects: a 160 MW project in Dhanora village in the Hingoli district, an 80 MW project in Jambheore village in the Jalgaon district, and two 80 MW projects in Khandali village in the Latur district.

The selected bidder will handle all aspects on a turnkey basis, including land development, design, procurement, erection, testing, supply, installation, civil and electrical works, obtaining statutory approvals, commissioning, and performance testing. The bidders are required to furnish Rs 63.7 million for 160 MW project and Rs 31.8 million each for 80 MW projects as an earnest money deposit. The bid submission deadline is May 14, 2024.

The project encompasses including power evacuation infrastructure, along with three years of operations and maintenance. SGEL has already entered into long-term power purchase agreements with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited to supply electricity from these projects.  However, the contractor will manage the loading, transporting, unloading, and storage of the solar PV modules, which SGEL will supply as free issue material. To be eligible, the bidders must have prior experience in setting up grid-connected solar projects, with minimum one project of 10 MW or greater capacity that has been successfully operating for more than three months. Alternatively, they can provide evidence of having completed large industrial projects in fields such as power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser, cement, or coal mining, including coal handling plants or other processes, valued at a minimum of Rs 2,960 million for a 160 MW project and Rs 480 million for 80 MW projects.
