NEXTracker launches storage-based solar tracker

US-based photovoltaic (PV) tracker manufacturer NEXTracker, Inc. has launched a solar plus energy storage solution called NX Fusion Plus. It brings together a solar tracker, a battery, an inverter and software. It uses NEXTracker’s predictive smart control software that is already embedded in the tracker’s electronics, the secure data platform of NEXTracker’s parent company Flex Limited and machine learning capability, acquired through the purchase of BrightBox in 2016.

The solution will allow customers to use more solar energy and offset demand charges, which, as per the company, is particularly beneficial for farms in California’s Central Valley. It can also provide stable power in countries such as India.
