Jupiter Power has closed $1.4 billion in financing across four transactions to support 10 utility-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects totalling 1,500 MW/3,600 MWh in Texas and Michigan. The company has 5.6 GW/19.7 GWh of projects that are operational, under construction or contracted, along with 23 GW of projects under development across major US power markets. The financings, completed between April and July 2026, comprised senior secured project debt, tax equity bridge loans and a US private placement.
As part of these financings, the company secured financing of $536 million for the Tidwell Prairie II, Bee Branch and Barton Branch projects in Texas in July. In June, the company closed a $281 million private placement to support three operational BESS projects, a $294 million financing in May for the Grand Basin and Voyager I projects in Michigan and it also secured $258 million for the Callisto II and Pamela Heights I projects in Texas in April. The transactions bring Jupiter Power’s total financing since inception to more than $3 billion.
In October 2025, Austin Energy entered into an agreement with Jupiter Power to supply up to 100 MW of electricity from a utility-scale BESS project in Houston, Texas. The contract is valued at approximately $14.4 million annually, with a duration of up to 20 years. This amounts to a total of around $288 million over the contracted period.
