SECI announces results of 17.77 MW rooftop solar auction

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has announced the results of its auction for 17.77 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government buildings in Puducherry under Tranche V. Potaliya Petrochemicals secured 15 MW, while Kishan Infrastructure Industries was awarded 2.768 MW. Both developers quoted a tariff of Rs 4.11 per kWh. The tender was initially floated in September 2025 and was later revised, increasing the total capacity from 13.043 MW to 17.768 MW.

According to the tender guidelines, the scope of work includes the design, engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects. Additionally, developers are required to provide operations and maintenance services for the full duration of the power purchase agreement. Furthermore, successful bidders must arrange net metering, grid connectivity, and obtain all necessary permits, approvals, licences, and insurance. The responsibility for power transmission up to the interconnection point, including metering for energy accounting, as well as maintenance of the transmission system up to this point, lies with the developer. Additionally, all modules deployed in the projects must be sourced from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers – List I.

In March 2026, SECI announced the results of its viability gap funding tender to set up six standalone battery energy storage systems with a total capacity of 125 MW/500 MWh in Odisha. Coal India won Cluster I, with a total capacity of 40 MW/160 MWh, at an amount of Rs 304,000 per MW per month. The company also won Cluster II, with a total capacity of 40 MW/160 MWh, at an amount of Rs 305,000 per MW per month. Furthermore, Onward Solar Power secured a capacity of 45 MW/180 MWh at an amount of Rs 375,000 per MW per month.
