Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has issued a tender to procure 2,500 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) power. At least 51 per cent or 1,275 MW of this capacity needs to be sourced from renewable energy projects.
According to the tender guidelines, the bidders are required to ensure a minimum capacity utilisation factor of 80 per cent annually, 70 per cent each month, and 90 per cent during peak hours. Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 100,000 per MW. The selected bidders are required to submit a performance bank guarantee of Rs 500,000 per MW.
Furthermore, the successful bidders are also required to provide the RTC power. They will also schedule and dispatch renewable energy on a must-run basis. Furthermore, the remaining capacity can be supplied from non-renewable sources by successful bidders. The successful bidders will also ink a 25-year power purchase agreement with MSEDCL. Power supply will commence on February 28, 2027. Additionally, the bid submission deadline is February 13, 2026.
