NLC India Renewables Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, secured a letter of award (LoA) from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for the development of a 600 MW solar power project integrated with an energy storage system (ESS). The ESS will have a capacity of 300 MW/1,800 MWh. The project was awarded under SECI’s larger tender for 1,200 MW of solar capacity coupled with 600 MW/3,600 MWh of energy storage.
The tender was floated through a tariff-based competitive bidding process. The power generated by the project will be supplied under a power purchase agreement for a tenure of 25 years. Full-capacity supply is scheduled to commence 24 months from the PPA’s effective date.
Earlier in January 2025, NLC India Limited fully commissioned its 300 MW Barsingsar solar power project in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. In the same month, NLC India Limited inked a MoU with the Gujarat government for the development of large-scale renewable energy projects in the state.
