Juniper fully commissions 100 MWh merchant BESS in Rajasthan

Juniper Green Energy Limited (Juniper) has completely commissioned its 100 MWh merchant battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, through its subsidiary, Juniper Green Cosmic Private Limited. Of the total capacity, 60 MWh was commissioned earlier in December 2025.

Trial operations for the full capacity have been completed, and approval has been secured from the Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre. Moreover, the project has emerged as one of the largest operational BESS installations in India. It is expected to generate merchant revenue streams through services such as peak power arbitrage, grid balancing services, and participation in ancillary service markets.

Earlier this month, Juniper secured Rs 20.39 billion in debt financing from global and national financial institutions such as the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development, HSBC, DBS, Barclays, and Aseem Infrastructure Finance Limited.
