The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has inked a MoU with Green Energy Development Corporation of Odisha (GEDCOL), Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC), and Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA). The MoU focuses on developing 1000 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), pumped storage projects, 2.5 GW floating solar or solar with BESS, along with other renewable energy technologies.
Furthermore, the projects are expected to strengthen Odisha’s renewable energy infrastructure. The collaboration is also expected to create both direct and indirect job opportunities through various contracts and initiatives.
Earlier in November, the SECI and the National Highways Authority of India inked a MoU for the installation of solar plants along the elevated stretch of Package-1 (Delhi portion) of the Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun highway (NH-709B) under Phase-1.
Furthermore, in September 2025, the SECI issued a tender for setting up 3,640 kW grid-connected rooftop solar projects under the renewable energy service company mode through tariff-based competitive bidding (RTSPV-Tranche-IV).
