Hindustan Power has emerged as a winner of a bid from the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for the development of a solar and battery energy storage project. The project will have a contracting capacity of 150 MW solar and requires the installation of around 300 MWp of solar and 300 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The project was secured in SECI’s tender for interstate transmission system-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects with integrated BESS. Furthermore, it will be developed under the SECI–ISTS–XX tender. The project can be set up anywhere in India.
Earlier in August 2025, Hindustan Power signed a power purchase agreement with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited for a 435 MW DC solar PV project.
Furthermore, in June 2025, Hindustan Power received a letter of intent from Bihar State Power Generation Company Limited to develop a 120 MWh standalone BESS.
