NTPC requests proposals for supply of round-the-clock renewables

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited, a subsidiary of the state owned power producer NTPC Limited has begun requesting proposals from experienced developers to supply continuous renewable energy (RE) from solar, hydro, wind, pumped storage, battery energy storage, and hybrid power plants. The power supplies will be purchased over the medium to long term.

According to the guidelines, applicants must supply a minimum of 10 MW of RE. To be eligible, applicants must have commercially operational RE plants or storage projects scheduled for completion by December 31, 2023. Generators with investment approvals or contracts for the main package would be eligible.

NTPC has issued a request for qualification to select developers to set up 1,150 MW grid-connected solar power projects across 175 locations in Cuba. Also, a tender for 150 MW battery energy storage systems has been released for three locations in Cuba. Under the International Solar Alliance’s Program-6, NTPC was appointed as the project management consultant for 900 MW of solar projects to be developed in 175 locations across 15 provinces in Cuba.
