BC Jindal Group inks PPA with SECI for 150 MW RTC renewable energy

BC Jindal Group has inked a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 150 MW round-the-clock (RTC) renewable energy. The company secured this capacity under SECI’s 1,200 MW RTC tender at a tariff of Rs 5.07 per kWh.

Furthermore, under the scope of work, to deliver the contracted capacity, BC Jindal will establish interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected renewable energy power projects, which will include solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems. The scope further includes land identification for the project, its installation, and connecting it to the ISTS network to supply power to the distribution companies contracted through the SECI.The project is expected to be commissioned within 24 months from the PPA signing date, provided the substation is available. The tender was floated earlier in November 2024.

Earlier in April 2025, BC Jindal Group announced its entry into the renewable energy component manufacturing sector with a planned investment of Rs 150 billion by 2030.
