TotalEnergies plans to divest up to 6 per cent stake in AGEL

TotalEnergies is planning to sell up to 6 per cent of its stake in Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL). The company currently holds nearly 19 per cent in AGEL through two subsidiaries. This includes 15.58 per cent through TotalEnergies Renewables Indian Ocean Limited and 3.41 per cent through TotalEnergies Solar Wind Indian Ocean Limited.

Furthermore, TotalEnergies had originally purchased its stake in the company for $2.5 billion in 2021. The stake may be offered to AGEL itself, which is evaluating the proposal.

Earlier this month, AGEL announced plans to invest Rs 150 billion for the installation of two pumped storage projects with a combined capacity of 2,700 MW  in Assam.

Furthermore, in August 2025, AGEL’s subsidiary, Adani Renewable Energy Three Limited, commissioned a 50 MW solar-wind hybrid power project at Khavda, Gujarat.
