Kalpa Power Private Limited has unveiled a productised battery energy storage service (BESS) named WATTBANK, engineered for the commercial and industrial (C&I) segments. The BESS charges during the day using solar energy and automatically provides power during peak evening time. According to the company, this process reportedly enables businesses to save Rs 8 million-Rs 10 million annually for typical 1 MW facilities. Furthermore, the system reportedly provides 50 per cent savings on the evening peak tariff of the C&I segments.
Through WATTBANK, Kalpa Power offers a comprehensive productised service model that combines energy audits and optimised storage design. It also includes complete implementation, continuous data visibility and life cycle management. The system is designed for a 25-year lifespan and aims to balance electricity demand fluctuations, enhance grid stability and mitigate overloading challenges.
