The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have inked a MoU for the installation of solar plants. These solar plants will be installed along the elevated stretch of Package-1 (Delhi portion) of the Delhi-Saharanpur-Dehradun highway (NH-709B) under Phase-1. Furthermore, the partnership aims to power highway infrastructure, reduce operational carbon footprints, and serve as a model for green infrastructure development across India.
Earlier in September 2025, the SECI issued a tender for setting up 3,640 kW grid-connected rooftop solar projects under the renewable energy service company mode through tariff-based competitive bidding (RTSPV-Tranche-IV).
Furthermore, in August 2025, the SECI issued a tender to select a supplier for a 600 MW/1,200 MWh standalone grid-connected battery energy storage system.
