V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin, has inked a MoU with CGS Energy for the development of a 300 tonne per day green ammonia production plant. The MoU is valued at around Rs 50 billion. As part of this partnership, the two companies will work towards developing clean energy solutions, enhancing logistics efficiency, and supporting green port initiatives.
Earlier in September 2025, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy recognised three major ports as green hydrogen hubs under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority was one of the ports. Other ports included Deendayal Port Authority and Paradip Port Authority.
