Telangana to install 3.07 MW of rooftop solar systems at government schools

The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) has issued a request for proposals to install and commission 3.07 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems. The systems will be equipped with net metering and will be installed at 1,521 government schools throughout Telangana. According to the tender guidelines, the successful bidder will be responsible for the project’s operations and maintenance for a period of five years. The capital expenditure model will be used to develop the projects.

Rooftop solar systems of different capacities will be installed across locations. Part commissioning will be permitted for the project in stages. However, the assigned systems must be completed within the time frame. The bidders must submit a bid security deposit of Rs 2 million. As a performance security deposit, the successful bidder must provide an amount equal to 3 per cent of the total project cost.

The bidders must be TSREDCO registered suppliers with an expertise in installing and commissioning at least 600 kW of grid-connected solar power systems on government buildings in any of the previous three years. During the previous three financial years, the bidders should have an average annual turnover which is not less than Rs 50 million. The solar modules should have a minimum capacity of 250 W and a module efficiency of at least 16 per cent. The bid submission deadline is September 17, 2022.
