October 2025

We like to evolve with our readers – to find new ways to inform, engage and add value. Thus, over the years, we have diversified from print media towards building a stronger digital presence to expand our reach. This year, we decided to enter a new frontier – the world of podcasts.

How people spend their time is changing. Constantly on the move, they often listen to music or podcasts while commuting. To cater to our audience, we have launched Renewable Watch Podcasts – now live on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube.

We do realise that there is an information overload, and the attention span of listeners is also shrinking. Further, with so many choices out there, it has become increasingly important to stand out. Our approach, therefore, is to find our niche: to deliver insightful content and candid conversations with trendsetters across the renewable energy sector. Each episode is designed to go beyond headlines – to share the vision of the people behind the progress, their journeys and the ideas driving change. Alongside in-depth discussions on sector trends, we include short “rapid fire questions” on life philosophies and management mantras – offering a glimpse into how these leaders think and work.

The October issue is special for us. We feature our first podcast guest – Saurabh Kumar from the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet – in the Perspective section. The conversation explores the approach needed for scaling up battery storage in India’s energy transition and shares key insights from The Alliance’s Kilokari project in Delhi. For the ongoing Season 1, we have already recorded a few more episodes that will be launched soon. Stay tuned for the upcoming episodes, in which International Solar Alliance’s Ashish Khanna shares his views on the global solar landscape, AMPIN Energy Transition’s Pinaki Bhattacharyya talks about decarbonisation trends in the C&I renewables sector, and Chintan Research Foundation’s Dr Debajit Palit discusses ideas to promote the uptake of renewable minigrids in India.

We hope our listeners enjoy listening to these episodes as much as we have enjoyed creating them.
