ACME Solar Holdings and Ceigall India have emerged as the winners of Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited’s (RUMSL) auction to develop a 600 MW grid-connected, ground-mounted solar project with a battery energy storage system (BESS). The project will be situated at the Morena solar park in Madhya Pradesh. Both companies won 220 MW each, with ACME quoting a tariff of Rs 2.76 per kWh and Ceigall quoting a tariff of Rs 2.7 per kWh.
The scope of work for the winners consists of developing, operating, and maintaining two grid-connected, ground-mounted solar units of up to 300 MW each, integrated with BESS. The units must supply 220 MW at any time block and up to 440 MWh during peak demand. Furthermore, the 9-hour peak period will be split into a 4-hour morning peak and a 5-hour evening peak.
The power will be procured by Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company on behalf of the three distribution companies in Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, RUMSL will be responsible for setting up the evacuation infrastructure to facilitate power offtake from the projects.
