The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has issued a request for proposal (RfP) to select a supplier for a 600 MW/1,200 MWh standalone grid-connected battery energy storage system (BESS). The system will be located at Kolimigundla, Nandyal district in Andhra Pradesh. The project is eligible for grants under the viability gap funding programme for BESS Tranche-II.
The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive operation and maintenance for 15 years. Additionally, the BESS will be connected to the interstate transmission system via the Kurnool-3 substation in Andhra Pradesh.
Moreover, the bidders are required to furnish an earnest money deposit of Rs 421,600 per MW, which amounts to Rs 252.96 million for the entire 600 MW capacity. The successful bidder is required to submit a performance bank guarantee of 10 per cent of the contract value within 20 days of the notice of award. The bidders are required to submit their bids by September 10, 2025.
