APG to invest over AUD 1 billion in Octopus Australia’s renewable energy platform

APG Asset Management (APG) has formed a partnership with Octopus Australia and intends to invest over AUD 1 billion in OASIS, which is Octopus Australia’s flagship renewable energy platform. The partnership will speed up Octopus Australia’s growing pipeline of utility-scale solar, wind, and battery storage projects.

APG has joined the existing investors in Octopus Australia platform. The existing investors include large Australian superannuation funds, Rest and Hostplus, international pension funds, the Australian Federal Government via the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, as well as private banks and wealth managers. Further, completion of the proposed investment remains subject to the approval of the Foreign Investment Review Board and other relevant Australian regulatory authorities.

Earlier in April 2025, Octopus Australia achieved financial close and commenced construction of its 80 MW Fulham solar farm and 128 MWh battery project, valued at over $300 million. The project will use locally manufactured materials throughout construction and is expected to be fully operational in 2027.
