PNE Group’s 240 MW PV project reaches financial close in South Africa

PNE Group has achieved the final project development milestone on its 240 MW Khauta South PV site in South Africa. The milestone is based on the financial close between NOA Group and Standard Bank. Financial close marks the final payment in the sales and development services agreements, and thus the completion of the project for WKN Windcurrent, which is PNE Group’s South African Development team.

The early construction of the project has already commenced and is expected to be completed in early 2027. Earlier in 2024, PNE AG closed a sale and development services agreement for the Khauta South PV project and the Khauta West PV project to the NOA Group. Furthermore, since then, WKN Windcurrent and NOA Group have worked together to secure grid capacity for both sites.

Earlier in April 2025, PNE Group received permits for two new wind farms in Hesse and a ground-mounted photovoltaic system in Brandenburg. The permits allow the installation of approximately 185 MW of renewable energy. Once commissioned, the projects will be able to provide electricity to a total of 73,000 three-person households per year.
