Jindal Stainless and AB Energia commission captive solar plant in Odisha

Jindal Stainless in partnership with AB Energia Solutions Private Limited, has successfully installed and commissioned a solar energy project with a cumulative capacity of over 30 MWp at its Jajpur manufacturing unit in Odisha. This marks the largest captive solar plant within a single industrial campus in the state.

The project includes a 7.324 MWp floating solar plant and a 23.02 MWp rooftop solar system. The floating solar plant is deployed on an internal reservoir, converting unused water bodies into clean energy assets and simultaneously reducing water evaporation. Additionally, the rooftop solar system spans 10 industrial rooftops at varying elevations.

This initiative will reduce carbon emissions by 32,208 metric tonnes each year, reportedly. Furthermore, the project is expected to generate around 44.3 million units of green electricity annually.
