Teerth Gopicon and Reliance Industries have secured SJVN’s tender to develop 5,830 kW of grid-connected solar projects under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Teerth Gopicon won 5,705 kW of capacity, while Reliance Industries was awarded 125 kW. The tender, floated in December 2024, involves installing these projects on union government buildings across several states, including Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan.
The projects will be implemented under the renewable energy service company model. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has designated SJVN as an implementation partner for the program, tasked with installing grid-connected rooftop solar systems on government buildings and assets. The initiative focuses on solarising government buildings associated with the ministries of Commerce and Industry, Chemicals and Fertilisers, and the departments of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
In September 2024, Reliance Industries Limited has been awarded 10 GWh Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) capacity as the winner of production linked incentive (PLI) Scheme for ACC battery storage by the Ministry of Heavy Industries. The round had a budget of Rs 36.2 billion.
