AES Andes submits EIA for Inna green hydrogen project in Chile

AES Andes has submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to Chilean authorities for a proposed industrial-scale green hydrogen project named Inna. The project is currently in its early stages of development and aligns with Chile’s National Green Hydrogen Strategy. It focuses on developing solutions for producing green hydrogen for export and domestic use.

Furthermore, a MOU was inked between AES Andes and Samsung C&T. As part of this, the two companies will evaluate the joint development of the Inna project. This partnership will focus on opportunities to produce green hydrogen for both domestic consumption and export to the international market. Samsung C&T was recently awarded the contract to build Korea’s first green ammonia terminal.

The proposed Inna project may involve the production of green hydrogen and ammonia. It also plans to deploy solar, wind, and battery storage solutions. These technologies aim to support Chile’s growing electricity demand.
