JDR Cable Systems, a subsidiary of the TFKable Group, has been awarded a contract by DEME Offshore to support Dominion Energy’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project. The project will feature 176 wind turbines and three offshore substations, with JDR responsible for the pull-in, termination, testing, performing high-voltage tests to ensure reliable power transmission and commissioning of 66kV subsea inter-array cables.
The project will span three campaigns, commencing in 2025 and continuing into 2026, and is expected to have installed capacity of 2.6 GW. Additionally, the project is also expected to support the local economy in Virginia by engaging stakeholders to develop supply chain infrastructure and workforce capacity. The CVOW initiative aligns with U.S. renewable energy goals, aiming to deploy 30 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
JDR provides power and control solutions for global offshore oil, gas, and renewable industries. The company is engaged in the design, manufacturing, installation, and support of subsea power cables and umbilical systems.
