ACCIONA to construct 225 MW solar PV plant in Peru

ACCIONA has announced plans to construct a 225 MW photovoltaic (PV) plant for Kallpa Generación in La Joya, Arequipa, Peru, covering 549 hectares. The plant will feature 371,040 bifacial solar panels with advanced technology, and the solar farm is expected to generate 611 GWh of electricity annually.

Furthermore, the facility will connect to the Peruvian power grid via the 220kV San José substation and will be executed under a full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract. With this initiative, the company aims to enhance local energy infrastructure while contributing to global decarbonization efforts.

With over 2,952 MW of photovoltaic capacity installed across nine countries, the company has an experience in developing large-scale solar plants. Some of the projects constructed by the company are: 1,054 MW Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III) in Dubai, the 94 MWp Sishen plant in South Africa, and the 246 MWp El Romero Solar plant in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
