NTPC REL floats EPC tender for 300 MW solar power project in Rajasthan

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued an invitation for bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 300 MW ground-mounted solar power project connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) near NTPC Anta, Rajasthan. The deadline for submitting bids is December 12, 2024. The project will be funded by NTPC REL through its own funds or borrowings.

The scope of the project includes securing land, overseeing the entire design, EPC, manufacturing, supply, packing, forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, and commissioning of the solar facility. Additionally, the winning bidder will have to develop the power evacuation system to evacuate renewable energy from the project to the NTPC Anta substation, along with setting up a terminal bay at the substation.

According to the tender guidelines, the bidders have to pay Rs 22,500 for the bidding document and bid security of Rs 200 million. Their average annual turnover in the last three financial years must be at least Rs 2.4 billion, and their net worth on the last day of the previous financial year should be 100 per cent of their paid-up share capital. To be eligible, the bidders must have implemented at least one electrical substation with a voltage of 33 kV or higher, including circuit breakers and power transformers, with a minimum operation time of one year (or six months for renewable energy projects).

In September 2024, NTPC Limited floated a tender for the preparation of a detailed project report for an 800 MW pumped storage project (PSP) in Amba, Maharashtra.  In May 2024, NTPC REL issued a request for proposals for land and power evacuation package to set up 900 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected solar project to be set up in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh.
