Aamir Qazi is currently serving as senior vice president of project and business development and operations in the wind power division at Powerica Limited, an IPP and project developer. He has been with the organisation since 2004. Over his 25-year career, Qazi has managed power solutions, as well as textile and renewable energy businesses, with more than 14 years dedicated to wind and renewable energy. The most exciting aspect of Qazi’s current role at Powerica is leading innovative projects in the renewable energy sector, especially in wind energy. He is involved in every stage of project development, from concept to commissioning, as this dynamic and ever-evolving industry requires hands on expertise in regulations, land laws, business models, etc. He also finds great satisfaction in navigating complex operational and legal challenges, handling various compliances and regulatory requirements, finalising contracts and establishing strategic partnerships. These challenges make his work both stimulating and rewarding.

In his spare time, Qazi enjoys engaging in activities that help him relax and recharge. He loves spending time outdoors and his current role allows him to indulge in his passion for travel. Additionally, he cherishes spending time with family and friends.
“In the future, I aim to achieve several professional goals. Professionally, I am eager to lead and complete ground-breaking projects in the renewable energy sector, particularly focusing on wind energy, wind–solar hybrid and green hydrogen. I aspire to contribute to the growth and sustainability of my organisation by expanding our reach and impact in global markets,” he says.
Qazi holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce, a diploma in business finance from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and a post-graduate diploma in business administration from ICFAI Business School.
