The Odisha government has approved the investment proposals totaling Rs 9.03 billion in the renewable energy sector. The Energy Department’s single window committee approved these investments to support the state’s goal of achieving a 10 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. Among the approved proposals, HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Limited will establish a 48 MW wind energy project in Umerkote, Nabarangpur district, and ONGC Tripura Power Company Limited received approval for a 49.5 MW wind energy project in Astaranga, Puri district.
In March 2024, the Odisha government approved 22 new projects, at a total investment of Rs 40.67 billion. The projects encompass a range of sectors including green energy equipment, chemicals, textiles and apparel, metals, food processing, IT infrastructure, and others, demonstrating a holistic approach to industrial development.
