Results for Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited’s (GUVNL) auction to develop 500 MW of grid connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, with an additional green shoe option of 500 MW, have been announced. The tender for the project was issued in February 2024. KPI Green Energy and Juniper Green Energy have won 50 MW and 120 MW, by quoting Rs 3.33 per kWh and Rs 3.34 per kWh, respectively. By quoting Rs 3.39 per kWh, JSW Energy and Hinduja Renewables Energy have won 180 MW and 150 MW, respectively.
Projects that are either completed or in the process of being completed, without a long-term power purchase agreement with any agency, and those that sell hybrid power on a merchant or short-term basis will also be given consideration for the tender. In order to minimise technological uncertainties and guarantee the prompt commissioning of projects, only commercially proven and operational technologies are allowed for implementation. Furthermore, GUVNL has mandated the use of indigenously manufactured solar modules listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Additionally, under the tender, only certified wind-turbine models issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, listed in Revised list of Models and Manufacturers will be allowed.
