Uniper has partnered with NGEN to develop a 50 MW/100 MWh battery storage system at the Heyden power plant site in Petershagen. The battery storage system is anticipated to be operational by 2025. The partnership between Uniper and NGEN emphasises the joint commitment to innovation and sustainability.
The BESS will have 26 energy storage packs consisting of battery modules, in addition to integrated inverter modules, a thermal system for cooling or heating the components, and an interface for operating the system.
Earlier this month, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Energy Transition Fund, and Uniper inked a MoU to collaborate on green hydrogen. The partnership between CIP and Uniper will drive collaboration on the production, transport, and marketing of green hydrogen from the HØST PtX Esbjerg project, located on the Danish West Coast, to Germany.
